The Rings of Poseidon

A group of archaeologists, led by Afro-Caribbean Alycia Graham, are working on a Stone-Age site in the Orkneys, when they discover a remarkably well preserved copper ring, with the power to give the wearer a glimpse of the past ... but is it their own past of that of the ring? Why are all the team somehow connected with the history of the ring? What is a metal ring doing so far back in the Sone-Age?

This is a story with a strong occult content and a sinister thread running though it. It also introduces us to Gill and Steve Benderman, who appear in later stories.

A 'Cult Novel' from which you can learn (or infer) much!

Only The Darkness

"..Only the Darkness hides the shape, Of future perils to escape." Rudyard Kipling 1932

Gill has a safe way of investigating past lives, but when her friend Concha tries it, she lives a short interlude from the life of her as yet unborn daughter - in a world increasingly at risk from global warming and rising sea levels ... and from a genetic engineering company intending to make a profit from environmental degredation.

Gill, Steve, Concha and her husband Dave try to change the future by maipulating the present, but treachery, double dealing and murder mean that they might have caused the furture Concha saw. Is it a future that will happen, or only one that may happen?

Heat Stroke

The heat death of the planet through excessive global warming, genetic engineering to lengthen lifespans and the occult don't sound as if they go together, nor do they sound humourous, but this book involves all three and is often funny, though some of the humour is black-ish

Isaac Brinridge has invented a device for exploring the future telepathically. His neice, Athena, who is a rather nasty piece of work, belongs to the same occult group as Gill, who is trying out Uncle Isaac's gadget. Athena is mightily curoius but Gill's quick wits save her ... Brainridge, in spite of being long lived, and planet earth are not so lucky.

The Flag and the Flower

Ken Burton tells of digging a hole for a water storage tank in the garden of his house in sourthern Spain, and uncovering a chest containing a flag - a red battle standard with three green moons - and a dried flower. Investigating his find leads leads to hypnotic regression to a past life as a village priest at the time of the last uprising of the Moors and the final battle at Frigiliana in 1568. The tale is written as he told it.

His past life regression starts him on a trek which seems to support the crop of non-fiction books about a lost civilisation and the catastrophe which destroyed it. Meanwhile, in the present, he starts an ulikely relationship which likewise streches back across the ages. Tracy Nicholson has lost her two children, taken into care when she abandoned them. Has she really changed? Can she get them back?

The Riddle and the Key

At the entrance to Cádiz harbour, there really did stand in ancient times a huge statue ... more than 220 feet (70 metres) with the building on which it stood. It was pulled down around 850AD by an Emir of Córdoba. It was there in 300BC, because a Greek traveller described it. The Phoenicians said it was there when they built the city in 1100BC ... so who built it and why?

Ken and Tracy marry but she has a serious bout of déjà vu on her honeymoon and explores a past life as the daughter of a Carthaginian general who ends up married a Roman. This time it is Tracy who tells the story that Mike retells for you.

Follows on from the Flag and the Flower - a Psychic has suggested that some of this may be autobiographical

On Edge

DI Millicent Hampshire has had a recurring nightmare involving the ETA car bomb in Seville, which killed her Spanish policeman husband years ago. It drove her into the British Army bomb squad in Northern Ireland and from there to West Yorkshire police. Now the nightmare has returned: could it be because somebody in Special Branch needs a female detective with bomb squad experience? Millicent is faced with a bomb apparently planted by a member of a women's peace camp at Menwith Hill US Air Base, Harrogate, protesting at the upgrading of facilities there for the 'Star Wars' programme.

Outside Edge

Millicent Hampshire investigates a professional hit man known as the 'Head Case' but Eddie MacKays is so careful that he leaves no evidence. While Millie is psychic and tracks him down, it isn't evidence. She discovers his wife Kathy was raped and murdered while he was with the SAS in Afghanistan and that the first victim of the Head Case was the killer - but it still isn't proof. She gradually builds up a relationship with the man and, while she doesnÕt catch the killer, she stops the killing - isn't that what police work is really about?
